We are pleased to announce the release of CCH Scan version 21.0.
This version is now available for download.

Validate Your Scanner Settings for Optimal Results
The quality of scanned images is critical to achieve optimal extraction results with AutoFlow Technology. Having a good scanner that is configured properly will generate greater extraction accuracy. Regular scanner maintenance is also a key factor for success. To determine if the output of your scanner is suitable for AutoFlow Technology, please scan the sample slips sent to your firm and submit the resulting TIF or PDF file at https://support.wolterskluwer.ca/en/sharefile. Our Technical Support team will analyze your file and reply to you to confirm whether the quality of the scanner output will be likely to produce good data extraction results.
Register to the Wolters Kluwer Support Platform
Register to our support platform to submit, modify and track all your support requests in a single location. A chatbot system and a live chat feature powered by our virtual assistant are also included, with access to over 40,000 articles from our knowledge base. Note that since December 1, 2023, the Support Centre no longer offers an email support service, which has been replaced by our new support ticketing system.

CCH Scan Training
Please note that attending some Training Webinars is mandatory for new CCH Scan customers.
It is essential that members of your staff involved in tax preparation understand the procedures and changes in workflow that result from the adoption of a paperless tax preparation process. Mandatory training sessions ensure that your firm starts to experience the benefits offered by CCH Scan immediately. Our CCH Scan coordinator will plan your attendance. For firms renewing CCH Scan this year, we are pleased to offer an optional refresher Webinar, which highlights enhancements to the program including AutoFlow Technology.

New Enhancements

CCH Scan
- Scan Optimizer
Scan Optimizer runs two OCR engines against data on forms. The results from each OCR engine are compared against each other, and when the results are not a 100% match, the non-matching fields are displayed to the user in the Scan Validation screens for action. This feature increases the processing time for files and can be turned off in the CCH Scan Administrator settings; however, it is not recommended to do so. For more details, see the Learn about Scan Optimizer article.
- Scan Validation
A minimize/maximize button has been added to the top of the Scan Validation window for a wider view.
- Search Box for Tax Returns
The search box window has been expanded to display 25 characters (previously 12 characters) for searches of tax returns by SIN or Client ID.
- Classification and Extraction
Algorithms for classifying and extracting data on forms have been upgraded, allowing for more forms to be recognized more accurately.
CCH Prosystem fx PDFlyer
- CCH ProSystem fx PDFlyer now supports the Adobe Acrobat Classic version.
