Release of CCH ProSystem fx Practice Management v.2019.19.03

We are pleased to announce the latest release of CCH ProSystem fx Practice Management, version 2019.19.03, which is now available for download.

Please follow the instructions below to download the new version:

  1. Access the Wolters Kluwer Web site, then click Visit the Download Centre.
  2. Type your username and password in the “Connection” section and click Login.
  3. In the “Dashboard” page, click the Files Centre button in the “Download” section.
  4. In the "CCH Accountants' Suite" section, click CCH ProSystem fx Practice Management.
  5. Read and accept all the terms of the License Agreement.

You will then be able to download the documentation and the new version of the software. We also recommend that you save the files to a temporary location on your workstation.

New in this release

We have devoted this release to enhance CCH ProSystem fx Practice Management features and resolve known issues. For more details, please see the Release Notes.

Enhancements to Practice Management

Billing

  • From the Billing screen, the edit menu now enables the user to select the client list as the Bill Manager or as the Primary Partner. If, on the Billing screen you click the Billing Recap button, you now have a new column called Primary Partner. This column shows the Primary Partner of all the clients where invoices have not yet been “updated” (posted).

Report Writer

  • A new report type called Progress History is available under the Create Reports/Client section. It provides the ability to analyze progress billed and applied.
    In addition, a new Report Writer template called “Progress History Summary” was also created.

Miscellaneous

  • Client Setup
    In Administration/Preferences/My Client Set Up List, a separate column is now available to enter only the engagement code portion of the client code, i.e. Client Engagement Number. The new column will display as CLTENG when building a list of clients by client in either the Client Setup or in Client Find and Change sections of the Administration module.

  • Client Dashboard
    The WIP tab has bee added to the client dashboard, which displays the currently opened Work In Progress for the selected client. A table presents columns that include, in particular, the total hours, amounts and expenses. Two new security rights were created for that purpose under Administration/Firm/Security setup/Client Dashboard. They allow you to access to the WIP value and the WIP rates. The access defaults to No.

  • Employee Dashboard
    We have added a new tab to the Employee Dashboard which displays CPE transactions entered for the employee. Options include a date range to review the employee hours for any period of time. In addition, the header includes the CPE Renewal Date, the CPE Required Hours as well as a CPE note. The security for the tab defaults to Yes.

    Columns include: From, To, Category, Type, Hours, Class, Location, Sponsor, Sponsor ID, Cost and Yellow Book.

Issue Resolution

The Release Notes contain all information relating to enhancements made to the following modules:

Administration

  • Users can no longer generate and post a billable transaction to a non-billable client via Administration/Utilities/Create Expense Transaction for Multiple Clients.

Appointments

  • An appointment spanning a week now displays for each day of the appointment on the Free/Busy tab (Administration/Features menu).
  • Private appointments are no longer visible to other employees viewing the appointments of another employee.

Reports

  • The following reports no longer include data from deleted engagements when run by Client Master – Code or by Client Master – Sort Name:

    • AR Balance Listing
    • AR Reconciliation
    • Billing Report
    • Client Production Report
    • Client Profit Report
    • Monthly Comparison Report

The Client Ledger report no longer fails to report all of an employee’s initials.
